Length in art intrigues me; some of my favorite films, music, and literature are in short form - and I’m particularly interested in the idea of HINT FICTION, as a story told in fewer than 25 words, coined by Robert Swartwood. Brevity in storytelling forces more work to be done by the reader, observer…a task that excites both the writer and reader in me.

This painting is inspired from my own original hint fiction written about 8 years ago:

1982: Bare feet on the bike pedals brought tears to his eyes, but not because it hurt.
