INGREDIENTS

2 oz Local botanical gin

3/4 oz Fresh lime juice

3/4 oz Simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)

2 Fresh strawberries (hulled)

3-4 Fresh basil leaves

2-3 oz Club soda (to top)

Garnish: Edible flower petals and fresh basil sprigs

TECHNIQUE

The Muddle
Drop the strawberries and basil leaves right into the bottom of your cocktail shaker. Add the simple syrup and lemon juice, then muddle firmly.

The Shake
Pour in the gin, fill the shaker to the top with ice, pop the lid on, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds.

The Pour & Fizz
Strain the cocktail into a tall Collins glass (or a short rocks glass) packed with fresh ice. Top it off with a splash of club soda for that beautiful, effervescent fizz. Garnish with small basil leaves and petals.
